Anirban Lahiri shoots two-over-74 in opening round of Shell Houston Open
Anirban Lahiri shot a two-over-74 to be tied 117th after round one of the PGA Tour's Shell Houston Open. Lahiri, who will be making his debut at the US Masters next week, made three birdies, three bogeys and a double-bogey in the first round.
Lahiri began with a seven-feet birdie conversion on the 10th but conceded a double-bogey on the 17th after finding the bunker and the rough. He thus made the turn at one-over.
After dropping another shot on the second, the Indian star chipped-in from the bunker for birdie on the fifth. An outstanding approach shot on the sixth left Anirban a tap-in for his second straight birdie. Lahiri signed off with bogeys on the seventh and ninth.
American Scott Piercy was the round one leader at nine-under-63.
