Anirban Lahiri charges into contention with a scintillating 62

Anirban Lahiri (70-72-62) fired the week's lowest round, a 10-under-62, to charge into contention at the USD 3 million Maybank Malaysian Open. Lahiri, playing his rookie season on the European Tour, thus closed the third round in fifth place at 12-under-204. Anirban, a five-time winner on the Asian Tour, trailed the leader Bernd Wiesberger of Austria by five shots.

Lahiri made six birdies on the front-nine and added four more on the back-nine.
 
SSP Chowrasia's third round 68 placed him tied 18th at five-under-211. and Arjun Atwal fired matching scores of 76 to be tied 103rd.

Shiv Kapur was tied 53rd at one-over-217 while Rashid Khan was tied 66th at three-over-219.
