Gaganjeet Bhullar achieves career-best world ranking, leads Asian Tour Order of Merit

Six Indians in top-20 of Asian Tour Order of Merit

Gaganjeet Bhullar achieved a career-best world ranking of 85 after his runner-up finish at the Avantha Masters 2013. The 24-year-old Bhullar also leads the 2013 Asian Tour Order of Merit with earnings of US$ 262,648.

Bhullar, a four-time winner on the Asian Tour, improved on his previous best world ranking of 88 with a superb performance at the Avantha Masters held at the Jaypee Greens Golf Resort last week where he earned 12 Official World Golf Ranking points. The Kapurthala lad is now the top Indian in the world rankings.

Jeev Milkha Singh, whose career-best world ranking has been 28, the best-ever by an Indian, is currently the second highest ranked Indian at 104th place. Anirban Lahiri is ranked 158th and Shiv Kapur is at 204th.

On the Asian Tour Order of Merit, Gaganjeet Bhullar leads India’s charge as he occupies the no. 1 position. There are five more Indians in the top-20. Anirban Lahiri is placed fifth, Himmat Singh Rai is in ninth and Rashid Khan is 10th. Rahil Gangjee occupies 17th place while Jeev Milkha Singh is placed 20th.
