Jeev drops to tied 47th after round two in Ireland

Shiv and Gaganjeet miss the cut

India’s Jeev Milkha Singh slipped down the leaderboard after returning a two-over-73 in round two of the Irish Open that took his total to one-under-141.

The six-time Asian Tour winner opened his campaign impressively with a 68 but after marking his card with one bogey, a double-bogey and a birdie on the second day, Singh slipped 38 places down from overnight tied ninth to a share of 47th place at the Fota Island Resort.

The Indian will head into the weekend rounds nine shots behind Finland’s Mikko Ilonen, who leads on 132.

Shiv Kapur (two-over-144) and Gaganjeet Bhullar (eight-over-150) missed the halfway cut of even-par-142.

The top three players this week will earn a spot at next month’s Open Championship which is the year’s third Major.
