Siddikur Rahman secures tied third at Queen's Cup, Gangjee is tied ninth

PGTI member and Bangladeshi star Siddikur Rahman (68-70-64-72), signed off with a 72 to share third place at the Queen’s Cup in Thailand. Siddikur, who briefly held the lead on the back nine, totaled 10-under-274 for the week. Thaworn Wiratchant of Thailand bagged a record 17th Asian Tour title after closing the week with a total of 12-under-272.

EurAsia Cup star Siddikur was disappointed he let victory slip from his grasp and was not too plased with a closing bogey which dropped him into a share of third place.

“Everything was bad. It was very disappointing, especially on 18. I still had a chance to get a birdie but unfortunately I got a bogey. It made a big difference. The ball didn’t want to go in. I had a chance but it didn’t happen. It’s okay, it’s part of the game. Thaworn deserved it as he made some long putts. It was awesome putting by him,” said Siddikur, who settled for his fourth top-10 in Samui.

India’s Rahil Gangjee (73-70-68-68) of India finished tied ninth at five-under-279 after a final round 68.

Gangjee’s compatriot Jyoti Randhawa was a further shot back in tied 14th.

Manav Jaini, who was overnight seventh, secured tied 28th position at one-over-285.

Anirban Lahiri, Rashid Khan and Shankar Das were all in joint 37th at three-over-287.

Chiragh Kumar ended tied 61st at 10-over-294 while Digvijay Singh was 67th at 12-over-296.

At the European Tour's Lyoness Open in Austria, Gaganjeet Bhullar finished tied 55th at three-over-291 and Jeev Milkha Singh secured tied 62nd at five-over-293. Mikael Lundberg of Sweden won the tournament after defeating Austrian Bernd Wiesberger in a playoff. Lundberg and Wiesberger went into a playoff after ending four rounds with matching totals of 12-under-276.
