Jaini, Siddikur tied third after round one of Queen's Cup

Shubhankar misses the cut at ICTSI Orchard Golf Championship

Manav Jaini of India and Bangladesh's Md Siddikur Rahman shot scores of three-under-68 to be placed tied third after round one of the Queen's Cup, an Asian Tour event. Jaini and Siddikur were two shots behind the leader Poon Saksansin of Thailand who fired a five-under-66.

Manav, a 10th tee starter on Thursday, had a slow start as he bogeyed the 12th and 13th. However, he came roaring back with a birdie on the 14th followed by four consecutive birdies from the third to the sixth. He had three holes to go when play was halted due to darkness on Thursday.

A weather suspension of one hour and 25 minutes meant that 27 players including Jaini returned on Friday morning to complete their rounds. Manav made pars on the last three holes on Friday.

PGTI member Md Siddikur Rahman of Bangladesh also completed his round on Friday. He fired a bogey-free 68 in round one.

Siddikur's compatriot and fellow PGTI member Md Zamal Hossain Mollah was in tied eighth place at two-under-69.

Among the other Indians, Shankar Das shot a one-under-70 to be tied 16th while Jyoti Randhawa and Chiragh Kumar returned scores of even-par-71 to be tied 22nd.

Angad Cheema and Abhijit Chadha were tied 34th at one-over-72 while Sujjan Singh and Rahil Gangjee were a further shot back in tied 52nd.

Asian Tour Order of Merit leader Anirban Lahiri of India struggled to a four-over-75 after carding a triple-bogey seven, three bogeys and two birdies to lie tied 76th.

Digvijay Singh was tied 94th after a round of 76 and Chikkarangappa's round of 77 placed him tied 102nd.
