Chowrasia shoots 71 in round one of the Maybank Malaysian Open to lie tied 31st

SSP Chowrasia was the highest placed Indian after round one of the Maybank Malaysian Open. He shot a one-under-71 to lie in tied 31st place, six shots off the lead. England's Lee Westwood fired a seven-under-65 to emerge as round one leader.

Chowrasia's card in round one featured four birdies, a bogey and a double bogey.

Rashid Khan and Anirban Lahiri fired scores of even-par-72 for a share of 45th place.

Rahil Gangjee, Digvijay Singh and Chiragh Kumar's scores of two-over-74 placed them joint 74th.

Arjun Atwal and Gaganjeet Bhullar occupy tied 93rd position at three-over-75.

Shiv Kapur and Jyoti Randhawa are in tied 104th place with scores of 76.

Himmat Rai and Jeev Milkha Singh returned scores of 77 to be in joint 114th place.
