Indians miss out on qualifying at the Open Qualifying Series in Thailand
The five Indians in the field missed out on qualifying for the 2014 British Open after finishing outside the top-4 at the Open Qualifying Series in Thailand at the Amata Spring Country Club. Rahil Gangjee (71-72) posted an even-par-72 in the second and final round of the event to finish as the highest-placed Indian at tied 15th with a total score of one-under-143.
Among the other Indians in the field, SSP Chowrasia (78-70) was placed tied 37th at four-over-148 while Chiragh Kumar (73-79) ended the tournament in tied 54th at eight-over-152.
Himmat Singh Rai, who had shot 79 in round one, withdrew from the event in round two. Anirban Lahiri had withdrawn in the opening round on Thursday.
