Shubhankar Sharma secures tied seventh place at Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship

Shubhankar Sharma (67-70-69-69) secured tied seventh place at the DP World Tour's Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.

Shubhankar, who was inside the top-10 in the first two rounds, totaled 13-under 275 at the Yas Links Abu Dhabi to finish five shots behind the winner Victor Perez of France in his first event of 2023.

Sharma, the joint runner-up at last year's edition of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, now moves into 20th place in the Race to Dubai Rankings.

The 26-year-old Shubhankar, a two-time winner on the DP World Tour and currently ranked 234 in the world, struck an eagle and four birdies against three bogeys in the final round to gain four spots from his overnight tied 11th place.
