Veer Ahlawat and Viraj Madappa shoot scores of 66 to jointly lead round one of the Asian Games Selection Trials
Veer Ahlawat and Viraj Madappa shot scores of six-under 66 to jointly lead the 16-man field in round one of the Asian Games selection trials at KGA, Bengaluru.
Ahlawat and Madappa fired seven birdies and a bogey each during their opening rounds.
Rashid Khan, Yuvraj Singh Sandhu and amateur Milind Soni were tied third with scores of 68.
The five-day event will decide the two players who will join automatic qualifiers Anirban Lahiri and Shubhankar Sharma (who qualified based on the Official World Golf Ranking) in the Indian team for the Asian Games 2022.
The Asian Games has opened its doors to professional golfers for the first time.
There are nine professionals and seven amateurs competing at the Selection Trials.
