Shiv Kapur's opening round of five-under 65 places him tied seventh at Saudi International

Shiv Kapur's opening round of five-under 65 placed him tied seventh at the Asian Tour's Saudi International being played at the Royal Greens Golf & Country Club.

Shiv, who fired six birdies and one bogey, is three shots behind the leader Matteo Manassero of Italy. Kapur, even-par through eight holes, made a late charge with five birdies on the last 10 holes including consecutive birdies on the 15th, 16th and 17th.

Rashid Khan was in tied 13th at 66 while Shubhank Sharma was tied 23rd at 67.

Veer Ahlawat and Viraj Madappa were tied 67th at a score of 71 while Chikkarangappa was a further shot back in tied 80th.

Khalin Joshi (74) was placed tied 100th.
