Chikkarangappa S & Khalin Joshi in contention going into the final round of The Singapore International; Chikka in third, three off the lead and Khalin in fourth

The Indian duo of Chikkarangappa S and Khalin Joshi kept themselves in contention heading into the final round of The Singapore International at Tanah Merah Country Club.

Chikkarangappa (75-70-70) struck a second straight two-under 70 in round three on Saturday to move up four spots to third position at one-under 215. Chikka, still searching for his maiden Asian Tour title, trails the leader Rattanon Wannasrichan of Thailand by three shots and second-placed Joohyung Kim of Korea by one shot.

The 28-year-old Chikka, a two-time winner on the Asian Development Tour and a runner-up on the Asian Tour, mixed four birdies with two bogeys in the third round. 

Khalin Joshi (67-74-75) signed a card of 75 on day three to drop two spots to fourth position at even-par 216. The 29-year-old Khalin, a winner on the Asian Tour in 2018 and the round one leader this week, made three birdies, four bogeys and a double-bogey in round three.

Rashid Khan was the next best Indian in tied 14th at five-over 221.

Viraj Madappa was tied 36th at eight-over 224 while Shubhankar Sharma and Ajeetesh Sandhu were a further shot back in tied 45th place.

Shiv Kapur and Abhijit Chadha were tied 55th at 10-over 226.
