Shubhankar Sharma continues his superb run in Europe, placed tied fifth and five shots off the lead after round three of Open de Espana
Feeding off his recent brilliant run on the European Tour, Shubhankar Sharma of India produced scores of 67, 64 and 70, to be placed tied fifth at 12-under 201 after round three of the Open de Espana in Madrid.
Sharma, who trails the leader Rafa Cabrera Bello of Spain by five shots, fired two birdies and a bogey during his third round of one-under 70. Shubhankar had earlier sunk two eagles during his second round of seven-under 64.
Sharma, a two-time winner on the European Tour, has so far posted three top-10s on the tour this season with his best being tied eighth at the Made in Himmerland event played in Denmark in May this year.
Shubhankar is currently 83rd in the Race to Dubai rankings with the top 125 likely to retain their cards for the following season. With five events remaining in the current season, Sharma is now almost certain of retaining his card for next season.
