Anirban Lahiri off to a solid start with a 68 at Barbasol Championship, lies tied 31st
Anirban Lahiri was cruising on six-under for his round on day one of the PGA Tour's Barbasol Championship until a late blemish where he found water with his approach shot into the 18th to drop a double-bogey.
Lahiri, who will be heading to the Tokyo Olympics later this month, enjoyed a hot streak around the turn, making three straight birdies from the eighth hole and then converting a 22-feet eagle putt on the 11th hole. His opening four-under-68 puts him in a share of 31st position with the first round to resume on Friday morning following a weather suspsension.
Arjun Atwal, the other Indian in the field, shot an even-par-72 to be tied 101st.
The clubhouse lead on day one was held by American Brian Stuard at eight-under-64.
