Gaganjeet Bhullar moves up to tied 21st in round three of Irish Open

Gaganjeet Bhullar (71-68-70) produced a third round effort of two-under-70 at the European Tour's Dubai Duty Free Irish Open to move up 13 spots to tied 21st at seven-under-209.

The 33-year-old Bhullar, who has been struggling to find form in recent times having missed four of his last five cuts, has so far enjoyed a solid week at Thomastown in Co Kilkenny, Ireland, with three sub-par rounds.

On Saturday, Gaganjeet made gains with a round that featured six birdies and two bogeys. Bhullar, a European Tour winner in 2018, was even-par on the front-nine but had a more fruitful back-nine where he scored two-under.

The nine-time winner on the Asian Tour had dropped just one bogey in the first two rounds.

Bhullar's best finish on the European Tour this year has been a tied second at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters. He also posted another top-20 at the Magical Kenya Open.

Shubhankar Sharma (74-67-72), the other Indian to make the cut, shot an even-par-72 in round three to be placed tied 57th at three-under-213.

Australian Herbert Lucas leads the field at the Irish Open with a total of 15-under-201.

At the PGA Tour's Rocket Mortgage Classic, Anirban Lahiri (71-69-73) slipped 24 spots to tied 70th at three-under-213 after his third round of one-over-73.
