When Jyoti Randhawa and Digvijay Singh put up a breathtaking display of skydiving as a precursor to the 10th TATA Open 2011
First ever skydiving performance at a golf course in India
Two of India’s leading professional golfers, Jyoti Randhawa and Digvijay Singh, kick-started the 10th TATA Open 2011 on November 23 in grand fashion with their breathtaking display of skydiving at the Beldih Golf Course in Jamshedpur. This was the first time ever that a skydiving performance was held at a golf course in India.
Jyoti and Digvijay, both of whom are highly skilled and experienced skydivers, performed their act of daredevilry from an approximate altitude of 7000 feet at 10 am in the morning and again at 3 pm in the afternoon. They made a perfect landing on both occasions on the seventh fairway of the Beldih Golf Course and were greeted by huge crowds upon their landing.
Jyoti Randhawa, a former Asian Tour Order of Merit champion, who is known for his passion for adventure sports, said, “One has to experience the thrills of skydiving. It’s something that cannot be described in words. I was really excited about landing on a golf course for the first time, something I hadn’t had an opportunity to do earlier. I would like to thank TATA Steel for providing us this opportunity today.”
