Message from the CEO - Mr. Uttam Singh Mundy

Greetings and best wishes from the entire team of PGTI.

We hope each one of you and your family members are in good health and in high spirits in these testing times.

The world is facing an unprecedented situation due to the continuing global health crisis brought about by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. However, we are hopeful that the timely enforcement of the lockdown and other safety measures by the Government of India will soon begin to bear fruit in our country and help us return to normal life sooner rather than later.

Importantly, there is optimism in the golfing world as it is a well-known fact that golf is one of those sports where social distancing can be put into practice in a comparatively easier and effective manner. Keeping this factor in mind, we look forward to PGTI events resuming in a reasonable amount of time after the golf courses are opened.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation to all those essential service providers who are at the forefront in the war against the deadly Coronavirus. We salute the spirit and commitment of this section of our society which is discharging its duties selflessly by serving the public in this hour of need.

The one-year postponement of the Tokyo Olympics and the subsequent one-year extension of the qualifying date for the men’s golf event has now opened up the race for India’s Olympic hopefuls.

Once professional golf resumes, we can expect an exciting battle for the two Olympic berths from India with the likes of Rashid Khan, Udayan Mane, Shubhankar Sharma and Shiv Kapur, all among the world’s top-300 at the moment, being the major contenders along with a few others.

We wish you good health and safety and urge you to follow all the necessary precautions in order to defeat the Coronavirus pandemic.

Best Wishes

Uttam Singh Mundy
