Bangladesh’s Parash takes the round one lead at Pre Qualifying III

Bangladesh’s Khandaker Rahat Tahsin Parash fired an even-par-72 to take the round one lead at the PGTI’s Pre Qualifying III for the 2020 season being held at the Kensville Golf & Country Club near Ahmedabad.

 

Parash made two birdies and two bogeys during his opening round to lead the field by one shot.

 

Patna’s Md Islam and Gurugram-based Manav Bais were in tied second with scores of one-over-73.

 

Amateur Harshjeet Singh Sethie and Gulfam Pappan of Delhi, Bangladesh’s Md Abdul Kadir and Kolkata’s Akram Ali Mollah were all in tied fourth with scores of two-over-74.

 

Former Indian hockey captain and three-time Olympian Dilip Tirkey, also competing in Pre Qualifying III, shot an 18-over-90 to be tied 69th.  

 

Out of a total field of 85, the top 24 players (+ ties) will qualify from Pre Qualifying III, a 36-hole event, for the Final Qualifying Stage.
