Aditya Raj Kumar Chauhan and Martendeya Kanishka Sinha take the top position in Pre Qualifying II, 26 players qualify for Final Stage
Gurugram’s Aditya Raj Kumar Chauhan (75-70) and Panchkula’s Martendeya Kanishka Sinha (74-71) finished on top of the leaderboard at the PGTI’s Pre Qualifying II for the 2020 season after ending the second round with identical totals of one-over-145.
From a total field of 88 in Pre Qualifying II, 26 players qualified for the Final Qualifying Stage as five players were tied in 22nd position when the cut was declared at eight-over-152 at the Kensville Golf & Country Club near Ahmedabad.
Aditya Raj Kumar Chauhan, who was tied 13th and five off the lead after round one, shot the day’s best score of two-under-70 to rise to the top. Chauhan’s round featured five birdies and three bogeys.
Martendeya Kanishka Sinha mixed three birdies and two bogeys in his round of one-under-71 that lifted him 11 spots from his overnight 12th.
Mumbai-based amateur Keshav Mishra and Gurugram’s Tinku Badliya, two of the round one joint leaders, slipped to tied third at two-over-146. The two other players in tied third were Ahmedabad-based amateur Anshul Patel and Gurugram’s Saurav Rathi.
Amateur Vinay Kumar Yadav of Gurugram, another joint leader from round one, dropped to seventh place at three-over-147.
Pre Qualifying III will be staged from January 10 – 11, 2020.
