Shiv Kapur begins title defence at Royal Cup with a four-under-66 to be tied fifth
Shiv Kapur began his title defence at the Royal Cup on a positive note as he mixed six birdies with two bogeys in the opening round to be placed tied fifth at four-under-66.
Kapur, who won three titles in Asia last year including the Royal Cup, trailed the leader Raththee Sirithanakunsak of Thailand by three shots.
Honey Baisoya was the next best Indian in tied 13th as he carded a 67.
The other Indians who shot sub-par rounds were Himmat Rai (68) and Jeev Milkha Singh (69). They were placed tied 25th and tied 37th respectively.
Khalin Joshi and Viraj Madappa were tied 47th with scores of 70 while Gaganjeet Bhullar was a further shot back in tied 74th.
Chikkarangappa occupied tied 92nd at 72 and Rashid Khan was tied 108th at 73.
Chiragh Kumar ended round one in tied 133rd with a 75 while Jyoti Randhawa was placed tied 138th at 76.
