Gaganjeet Bhullar begins Volvo China Open campaign with a four-under-68 to be tied eighth
Gaganjeet Bhullar of India began his campaign at the Volvo China Open with a four-under-68 to be placed tied eighth, four off the lead. Bhullar didn't have a single blemish on his card during the first round of the European Tour and Asian Tour joint sanctioned event.
The opening round lead was held by China's Daxing Jin who shot an eight-under-64 at the Topwin Golf & Country Club in Beijing.
Indians Arjun Atwal and Shubhankar Sharma brought in cards of 69 to be tied 18th.
Among the other Indians, Khalin Joshi fired a 71 to occupy tied 48th place while Ajeetesh Sandhu was a further shot back in tied 74th.
Shiv Kapur (73) was tied 97th, SSP Chawrasia (75) was tied 120th and Jeev Milkha Singh (77) was tied 140th.
Elsewhere, at the Japan Golf Tour's The Crowns tournament, being played in Aichi, Japan, India's Rahil Gangjee, who won the Panasonic Open Golf Championship in Osaka last week, came up with a first round score of one-under-69 to be tied 21st.
