Md Zamal Hossain Mollah wins BTI International
Shamim Khan claims runner-up spot, two more Indians in top-5
Bangladesh’s Md Zamal Hossain Mollah (67-70-71-68) won the BTI International at the Kurmitola Golf Club in Dhaka after firing a resilient four-under-68 in the final round on Thursday. Zamal finished the week with a total score of 12-under-276 at his home course. Shamim Khan (70-66-69-72) of India was the runner-up having finished one shot behind the winner at 11-under-277.
PGTI member Md Zamal Hossain Mollah’s final round of 68 catapulted him from overnight tied seventh to the top of the leaderboard. The 28-year-old, a two-time winner on the PGTI, made five birdies against a lone bogey in the last round.
Shamim Khan, the overnight leader, returned a sedate even-par-72 in round four to finish as the best Indian in the field. His final round featured three birdies, a bogey and a double-bogey.
The Indian duo of Ranjit Singh and Harendra Gupta claimed tied third place along with Md Sayum of Bangladesh at nine-under-279.
Among the other Indians in the field, Raju Ali Mollah (seven-under-281) finished tied sixth, Feroz Ali Mollah (one-over-289) was placed 13th while Deepinder Singh Kullar (11-over-299) secured tied 25th position.
