Shubhankar Sharma continues red-hot form at Indonesian Masters

India’s Shubhankar Sharma, the winner of last week’s Joburg Open, continued his red-hot form at the Asian Tour’s season-ending Indonesian Masters as he was going strong at five-under through 11 holes in round three when play was suspended due to lightning threats.

Shubhankar’s performance on day three catapulted him from his second round position of tied 16th to tied sixth at 11-under. He trailed the leader Justin Rose of England by five shots. Rose had completed only eight holes when play was called off.

Chikkarangappa, lying tied seventh at the halfway stage, dropped to tied 10th on the third day after being one-under through eight holes. His total stood at 10-under.

Ajeetesh Sandhu and Shiv Kapur were both at a total of seven-under in tied 23rd through 14 holes and 11 holes respectively.

Among the other Indians, Gaganjeet Bhullar was tied 33rd with a five-under total through 11 holes, Honey Baisoya and Jyoti Randhawa were both tied 44th with totals of three-under through 15 holes and 11 holes respectively and Rashid Khan was placed tied 73rd with a one-over total through 14 holes.

The season-ending Asian Tour flagship event has been hit by multiple rain and lightning suspensions since round two. Lightning activities disrupted play at 2.05pm and with thunderstorms lashing out at the Royale Jakarta Golf Club, officials decided to call off the third round at 4.10pm.

Play will resume at 6.15am on Sunday morning with the fourth round scheduled to commence at 7.30am with players teeing off in the same groups.
