Shamim Khan and Ranjit Singh share the lead in round two of BTI International
Indians Shamim Khan (70-66) and Ranjit Singh (68-68) are the joint leaders after round two of the BTI International being played at the Kurmitola Golf Club in Dhaka. Shamim and Ranjit totalled eight-under-136 at the halfway stage. Md Zamal Hossain Mollah (67-70) of Bangladesh, the overnight joint leader, slipped to third place in round two at seven-under-137.
Shamim had an outstanding run of seven birdies against a lone bogey in his effort of six-under-66 in round two while his fellow countryman Ranjit produced four birdies in his second round of four-under-68.
Local lad Zamal was a stroke behind the joint leaders. His second round of 70 included four birdies and two bogeys.
India’s Raju Ali Mollah is in tied fourth place at six-under-138 while his compatriot Harendra Gupta is in tied eighth place at four-under-140.
Among the other Indians in the field, Feroz Ali Mollah occupies tied 12th place at one-under-143 and Deepinder Singh Kullar is in tied 22nd place at six-over-150.
The cut was declared at eight-over-152. The only Indian to miss the cut was Rafick Ali Mollah (12-over-156).
