Zamal and Sayum hold joint round one lead at BTI International
Ranjit Singh highest-placed Indian in third position
The Bangladeshi duo of Md Zamal Hossain Mollah and Md Sayum are the joint leaders after round one of the BTI International being played at the Kurmitola Golf Club in Dhaka. Zamal and Sayum shot scores of five-under-67 at their home course to grab the advantage in round one. India’s Ranjit Singh posted the next best score of 68 to be placed third.
PGTI member Zamal fired eight birdies, a bogey and a double-bogey in the opening round while his compatriot Sayum came up with six birdies and a bogey.
Ranjit Singh occupied third position after his round of four-under-68 that featured five birdies and a bogey. The Chandigarh golfer was the highest-placed among the seven Indians in the field at the end of round one.
India’s Raju Ali Mollah is in tied fourth place at 69 along with Nepal’s Shivaram Shrestha. Shamim Khan of India is in tied sixth place with a score of 70.
