Ajeetesh Sandhu triumphs on the Japanese Challenge Tour, makes it two wins in two weeks

India's Ajeetesh Sandhu, the winner of last week's Asian Tour event in Taipei, continued his hot streak as he made it two wins in two weeks with a maiden success in Japan.

Ajeetesh (65-71) secured victory at the Pacific Club Challenge Tournament, a Japanese Challenge Tour event, on Friday after prevailing in a playoff over Japan's Konosuke Nakazato.

Sandhu, who bagged his first ever international title at the Yeangder Tournament Players Championship last week, totalled six-under-136 in the 36-hole event. He was tied at the top along with local lad Nakazato and therefore the match was decided through a playoff.

The 29-year-old Ajeetesh, who was third and one off the lead after the first round, finally won on the first playoff hole.

Ajeetesh has played six tournaments on the Japanese Challenge Tour this season and is currently ranked 13th on the money list.
