Lahiri makes brave comeback to halve singles match against Kevin Kisner
US Team win Presidents Cup with 19 - 11 scoreline
Anirban Lahiri made a brave comeback to halve his singles match against Kevin Kisner at the Presidents Cup on Sunday.
While the US Team went on to retain the Presidents Cup with a 19 - 11 scoreline, the final day featuring 12 singles matches, saw the International Team put up their best performance of the week.
The Internationals won six of the 12 singles encounters on Sunday and halved three matches to take 7.5 points from the day.
The visitors outplayed the hosts on the final day as the Americans could only notch three wins and as a result bag 4.5 points from the last session.
The Internationals made it a respectable scoreline on Sunday thanks to the victories of Jason Day, Hideki Matsuyama, Charl Schwartzel, Louis Oosthuizen, Adam Scott and Jhonattan Vegas.
The three Americans who won their matches on Day 4 were Daniel Berger, Phil Mickelson and Rickie Fowler.
The Internationals caused two huge upsets with Japan's Hideki Matsuyama defeating 2017 PGA Championship winner Justin Thomas by a 3 & 1 margin and Venezuelan Jhonattan Vegas defeating three-time Major champion Jordan Spieth by a 2 & 1 margin.
The three matches halved were played between Marc Leishman (International) and Kevin Chappell (US), Branden Grace (International) and Dustin Johnson (US) and Anirban Lahiri (International) and Kevin Kisner (US).
Anirban Lahiri was 2 down after 16 holes in his match against Kevin Kisner. However, Anirban rallied with wins on the last two holes to make it all square and thereby halve the match.
It turned out to be a good weekend for Lahiri, who had earlier won his fourball encounter on Saturday.
