Chikka and Shiv in tied ninth at halfway stage of Mercuries Taiwan Masters

The Indian duo of Chikkarangappa S and Shiv Kapur were placed tied ninth after round two of the Asian Tour's Mercuries Taiwan Masters.

Both Chikka and Shiv shot scores of 70 and 71 in the first two rounds to total three-under-141 at the halfway stage. They trailed the joint leaders Malaysian Gavin Green and Filipino Juvic Pagunsan by four strokes.

Arjun Atwal and Khalin Joshi occupied tied 19th at even-par-144.

Rashid Khan was a further shot back in tied 30th while Gaganjeet Bhullar, the sixth and last Indian to make the cut, was placed tied 40th at two-over-146.

Elsewhere, at the European Tour's British Masters, SSP Chawrasia (72-65) made a major gain of 73 places to move up to tied 35th after a second round of five-under-65. His halfway total read three-under-137.
