Chiragh Kumar finishes tied fifth at Yeangder Tournament Players Championship
Chiragh Kumar recorded a season-best top-5 finish at the Yeangder Tournament Players Championship in Chinese Taipei. Chiragh carded a two-under-70 in the final round to end the tournament in tied fifth position. The Indian golfer’s total score of seven-under-281 placed him six strokes behind the eventual winner Thaworn Wiratchant of Thailand, who won a record 16th Asian Tour title.
Chiragh’s (68-69-74-70) final round on Sunday was punctuated by an eagle, three birdies and three bogeys. The 29-year-old, who made two eagles during the tournament, thus posted his best finish on the Asian Tour this season.
Defending champion Gaganjeet Bhullar (73-69-74-76) was placed tied 41st at four-over-292. Rahil Gangjee (70-74-76-74) totaled six-over-294 to be placed tied 55th.
