Akash Modi's 70 gives him first round lead at Pre Qualifying I

Mumbai-based amateur Akash Modi fired a two-under-70 to take the lead in round one of the PGTI's Pre Qualifying I for the 2017 season being held at the Kensville Golf & Country Club near Ahmedabad.
 
Akash posted four birdies and two bogeys in his opening round.
 
Delhi's Ikramuddin Shah and Bengaluru-based amateur Jaibir Singh shot scores of one-under-71 to be tied for second.
 
Ahmedabad-based Arshpreet Thind, a former winner on the PGTI Feeder Tour, was among the seven players bunched in tied fourth at even-par-72.
 
The top 37 players (+ ties) will qualify from Pre Qualifying I, a 36-hole event, for the Final Qualifying Stage.
