Kapur, Chowrasia finish tied 10th at Iskandar Johor Open

Jeev Milkha Singh part of Royal Trophy-winning Asia team

Shiv Kapur and SSP Chowrasia carded identical totals of 10-under-206 to finish tied 10th at the rain-shortened $2 million Iskandar Johor Open. Spaniard Sergio Garcia won the event after firing a final round of 11-under-61. Garcia totalled 18-under-198.

While Shiv Kapur shot a three-under-69 in the final round, SSP Chowrasia returned a two-under-70.

Himmat Singh Rai finished with an overall score of six-under-210 in tied 21st place alongside Anirban Lahiri and Gaganjeet Bhullar. Jyoti Randhawa finished in tied 32nd at five-under-211 while Digvijay Singh ended the week in tied 48th position.

Elsewhere, at the Royal Trophy being played in Brunei, Jeev Milkha Singh was a part of the Asia team which defeated Europe in a sudden-death playoff. The teams had finished level at 8-8 before Asia sealed the deciding fourball encounter.

Jeev Milkha Singh, who celebrated his 41st birthday on Saturday, had recorded a 1-Up victory against Miguel Angel Jimenez of Spain in his singles match earlier in the day to tie the scores at 7-7.
