  • Eight Indians have played at the Majors – Gaurav Ghei, Jyoti Randhawa, Jeev Milkha Singh, Arjun Atwal, Shiv Kapur, Gaganjeet Bhullar, Anirban Lahiri and Shubhankar Sharma. They have a combined total of 50 Major appearances. All eight have appeared at the British Open.

 

  • Gaurav Ghei was the first Indian to appear at a Major when he played the 1997 British Open at the Carnoustie Golf Links in Scotland.

 

  • Anirban Lahiri has made 15 Major appearances so far, the most by an Indian. Jeev Milkha Singh with 14 Major appearances is second on this list.

 

  • Jeev Milkha Singh has most appearances at the US Masters (3), US Open (5) and PGA Championship (4), among Indians.

 

  • Anirban Lahiri has most appearances at the British Open (6) and PGA Championship (4), among Indians.

 

  • Jeev Milkha Singh, Arjun Atwal, Anirban Lahiri and Shubhankar Sharma are the only four Indians to have played all four Majors. Jeev is the only Indian to have made the cut at all Majors.

 

  • Five Indians have made the cut at the Majors - Jeev Milkha Singh, Jyoti Randhawa, Anirban Lahiri, Shiv Kapur and Shubhankar Sharma.

 

  • Jeev Milkha Singh (2007), Anirban Lahiri (2015 & 2016) and Shubhankar Sharma (2018) are the only three Indians to have appeared at all four Majors in the same year.

 

  • Shubhankar Sharma has the distinction of playing all four Majors in the same year as his Major debut (2018).

  

  • Gaganjeet Bhullar is the youngest Indian to have ever played a Major. He achieved the feat at the age of 21 years and two months when he appeared at the British Open 2009.

 

  • Shubhankar Sharma became the youngest Indian to play the US Masters when he appeared at the 2018 edition at the age of 21 years and eight months.
  
  • Shubhankar Sharma became the youngest Indian to play the US Open when he appeared at the 2018 edition at the age of 21 years and 10 months.
 
  • Shubhankar Sharma became the youngest Indian to play the PGA Championship when he appeared at the 2018 edition at the age of 22 years and 19 days.
  
  • Shubhankar Sharma became the youngest Indian to make the cut at a Major when he achieved the feat on the eve of his 22nd birthday at the 2018 British Open.

  

  • Jeev Milkha Singh was the first Indian to play the US Masters (2007) and US Open (2002).

 

  • Arjun Atwal was the first Indian to play the PGA Championship (2005).

 

  • Anirban Lahiri's tied fifth finish at the PGA Championship 2015 played at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin, has been the best result for an Indian at a Major.

 

  • Jeev Milkha Singh has recorded the best Indian finish at the US Masters (2008 - Tied 25th).

 

  • Jyoti Randhawa holds the record for the best result by an Indian at the British Open (2004 - Tied 27th).

 

  • Shiv Kapur has posted the best result among Indians at the US Open (2014 - Tied 23rd).

 

  • Anirban Lahiri is the first Indian to make the cut in three Majors in the same calendar year (US Masters, British Open & PGA Championship in 2015).

 

  • Jeev Milkha Singh and Anirban Lahiri are the only two Indians to make the cut at their debut Major appearance. Jeev achieved the feat at the 2002 US Open while Anirban followed suit at the 2012 British Open.

 

  • Two Indians have made the cut at the same Major only once. Jeev Milkha Singh and Anirban Lahiri achieved this at the 2012 British Open.

 

  • Anirban Lahiri's tied 31st finish at the 2012 British Open was the best result by an Indian in his debut Major appearance.

 

  • Jeev Milkha Singh is the only Indian to be the leader at any stage of a Major. He was the joint leader along with Sweden's Robert Karlsson after Round 1 of the 2008 PGA Championship.

 

  • Anirban Lahiri became the first Indian to make a hole-in-one at a Major during Round 3 of the 2012 British Open.
